Q: I synched Moxier Wallet on my iPhone then went to sync Moxier Wallet on my PC. After I clicked the sync button, a dialog box came up requesting a password. I put the wrong password in. Now I can't get back to that dialog box to change the sync password. When I click the sync button on my PC, a dialog box asking for a password does not reappear. However, I get an error message on my Moxier Wallet PC that my password isn't the same as my Moxier Wallet iPhone’s password. How can I change the sync password, or get that dialog box to return again so I can enter the correct password and sync my Moxier Wallet data between my PC and iPhone?
A: There are two different passwords used in Moxier Wallet: 1) A Master Password and 2) an Account Password. The dialog box automatically pops up when you attempt to sync your Moxier Wallet data. The dialog box is requesting your Account Password to log into our servers and access your online account. If you do not see that dialog box again, it means that you entered the correct Account Password. To sign off from your online account via your PC, select Tools/Account/Sign Off. Select Tools/Account/Sign On to sign on.
On the other hand, your Master Password is used to encrypt/decrypt your Moxier Wallet data. You were not able to sync your data because the Moxier Wallet Master Password on your PC and the Moxier Wallet Master Password on your iPhone are different. In order to sync to other devices, ALL devices much have the same Master Password. You can change the Master Password on your PC through the Tools/Preferences menu. Click the "Change" button in the "Master Password" section of the Preferences dialog box and type in the same Master Password you are using on your iPhone. You can also change the Master Password on your iPhone by selecting the “More” button, and then selecting “Preferences” followed by “Master Password”.
For better security, you SHOULD NOT use the same password for both your Master Password and your Account Password. Please read the following article for more information about the two passwords:
